Female Alpacas

As breeding females are pregnant for 11 1/2 months and then will be re-mated anytime from 2 weeks after giving birth, depending on age and condition, healthy young females will be pregnant most of the time. Therefore when you buy a female you are generally buying her already pregnant. This is a great way to increase your herd quickly, but you will need to be able to separate young males into a different paddock from around six months of age.
We are happy to provide a repeat mating on our farm with any of our stud males the following year after purchasing a breeding female from us.
Most of our females are white, however if we use a coloured stud male with her, it is quite likely that a coloured cria (baby) will be the result.
